Update: On Wednesday, June 27, 2012, Lulu passed over the Rainbow Bridge. She had end stage renal failure and we wanted to let her go with dignity. It was very sad but the right thing to do. She gave the fight of her life and wanted to stay with us as long as she could. She was very special in every way. She gave us some of the best times of my life. We will always love her and she will always be a part of me and our family. I miss her so much, it's going to be long time before I feel normal again. I am so grateful to have Bubba and Captain to ease the pain.
Lulu is six years old now August, 2011 and is still staying around 17 pounds. She loves to be with her mommy but daddy is a close second. She loves to cuddle with dad in the mornings while he watches the news and likes to ride in the car and prefers to be in the driver's seat. It doesn't matter who's driving either she can be very stubborn about this. Lulu loves her blankets. She enjoys playing outside and basking in the sun. Oh, yeah by the way, she can tell time. She always knows when it's time for me or dad to make her dinner. I am proud to have MDS "Multiple Dachshund Syndrome" as we also have a delightful black and tan boy named Bubba da Wubba. Lulu hated him when we got him two years ago but now they are snuggle buddies. We adopted Captain a few months ago, Lulu was first to befriend him. Bubba tolerates Captain but they are not really friends. Oh well. I call the three of them my entourage because where I go they follow.
